Landscape
Lagoon, plateau, dune, cave
In the northwest, a pale sandbar holds back the water of Detwah Lagoon. Inland, the road climbs to Diksam and the dense stands of dragon blood trees at Firmihin.
The south opens into long beaches and wind-shaped dunes; the east brings limestone pools, the vast chamber of Hoq Cave and a reef close to shore at Dihamri.

Getting to Socotra
Expeditions begin and end at Socotra Airport. The return Jeddah-Socotra flight costs $1,100 per person and the official tourist visa $200 per person; both are arranged with your booking.
When to travel
Socotra's travel season runs outside the strongest monsoon winds. Sea conditions determine boat days, and we confirm the exact departure windows currently open when you enquire.
Travelling responsibly
Entrance fees for every protected nature reserve on the programme are included, and specialist local guides or protected-area rangers accompany us in caves, canyons and forests.
Practical questions about Socotra
All of our expeditions start and finish at Socotra Airport. Guests fly the return Jeddah-Socotra route, booked with the trip at $1,100 per person.
